Weekly Card 3 of Pentacles Repeat

131219 Osho Zen 3 of Rainbows
Osho Zen Tarot

Welcome to the world of meaningful work!

131219 RWS 3 of Pentacles
Rider Waite Smith Tarot

3 of Pentacles, as a 3, is expansion and expression; as a Pentacle, those exes are happening in the material world, the world of health, and the world of finances.  (Not to bring to mind those you’ve left behind.)

Or maybe we do want to . . . .

When 3 of Pentacles appears, we know we’re on the road to perfecting whatever it is that we’re up to.  We’re looking to improve our status.  And that means we’ll be changing our relationship to anything that holds us back.

On the positive side, we can be so focused on our aspirations that we take the steps needed to attain those heights.   We’re dedicated to what we want to achieve: it comes from within, from our inner guide.  We gather a team that shares our vision and brings what we need to the table.  We understand how to work from a plan and how to learn new skills when we need to.

And the implication of 3 of Pentacles is that there’ll be a reward for quality work that’s faithful to the vision.

On the negative side, we can be so focused on the idea of “the best” that we use others to climb to the top.   Not a pretty picture, and not necessary to achieve our goals.

Osho Zen is one of the tarot decks that uses alternatives to Pentacles, Cups, Swords and Wands.  Here, we have Rainbows corresponding to Pentacles, Water to Cups, Clouds to Swords, and Fire to Wands.

To strengthen your understanding of 3 of Pentacles, imagine it in response to questions about home improvement, about a health or diet plan, and about investments.  How can you apply the concepts above to those arenas?

Then imagine the story you’d tell if 3 of Pentacles is paired with 10 of Swords.  And what’s the very different story that might result if it appears with Ace of Pentacles?

Now’s your chance to follow your inner guide to a better world!

I’m on holiday this week, so this repeat post is filling in for a live one.  Yes, you can still schedule a personal reading or lesson with me here.

Weekly Card 10 of Swords Revisited

131212 GDR 10 Swords
Golden Dawn Magical Tarot
(aka Golden Dawn Ritual Tarot)

Oh, it just sucks when we see these kinds of cards, doesn’t it?

Especially at this time of year.

But that’s the way it is, isn’t it?  Difficulties show up when we had something completely else in mind.  (Really, how often do we actually ask for trouble?)

We’ve looked at this card before, so we know there’s a message that our way of thinking just isn’t working.

And we already know the perspective we can take to get to the next cycle.

Since we’ve got holidays to attend to, how about we jumpstart that by looking at 10 of Swords at the energetic level.

10 of Swords is a complete disruption of energy.  You can paint yourself a picture of that, can’t you?    You’re on an agenda, running through your list for the day when – bam!  — something goes rogue.  So much for the smoothly oiled machine you had going for you.

Once you’re done pitching your mini-fit, what do you do about that disruption?

If we look at the astrology connected with 10 of Swords, we can find a clue or three.  We’ve got Sun in Gemini, which is not the Sun’s “favourite” sign to be in.  All that strong Sun energy that’s so good at getting things done is dissipated and weakened by the airy Gemini duality.

So we can look to see where we’re not being singled minded about our objectives these days.  And where are we being less than authentic, where are we stuck in thinking that’s been imposed on us from other times and other people?  Where are we downright over-thinking things?

We can also look to see where we’re overloaded.  What can we delegate – who can finish any part of the agenda you have to drop to handle your rogue element?  And what can we drop off the priority list for the meanwhile?

Even though things may not be going your way . . . .

Breathe!  There’s a better idea coming.

Weekly Card 7 of Swords

131031 Winged Spirit 7 of Swords
Winged Spirit Tarot

Oh, it’s so hard to write about 7 of Swords.   I’d like to tell you about them, but I need to keep my ideas guarded.  Maybe I’ll tell you some half-truths . . . .

Now that, right up there ^, that was 7 of Swords.

131031 RWS 7 of Swords
Rider Waite Smith Tarot

7 of Swords says that the current state can’t be maintained but that there’s too much misinformation to make any concrete decisions.  The only thing for sure is that, if you continue the way you’ve been going, you’ll run up against some major roadblocks.

7 of Swords can be difficult, in that you can’t be sure who to trust – even yourself!   The advice is often to think before you speak and to speak about what you intend to do before you do it.  The problem is, you’re not sure who’s listening or what they intend to do with the information you share.

It’s best to keep your cards close to your vest.  Collect information, taking it all with a grain of salt.  See if you can find the indirect route to your goals.

Check your own trustworthiness regarding others:  Are you taking ideas from someone else, rather than using your own?  Can you live with that?

The very positive outcome from 7 of Swords is that it heralds the Sword of Truth.  A breakthrough in your thinking, especially in your spiritual awareness.

If you’re planning something, you’ve only got something that will be partially successful at this stage.  If you can wait for that mental breakthrough before you roll out your plans, you’ll have something much more sturdy to offer.

Picture a few of the tarot cards we’ve looked at at a high stakes poker game.  7 of Swords is amoung  XIX The Sun3 of Wands, Page of Pentacles  and 10 of Swords.  Who’s doing what?  And who’s likely to come out a winner?

Keep your Poker face this week!

Weekly Card 10 of Swords

130523 WS 10 Swords
David Sexton’s Winged Spirit Tarot
130523 RWS 10 Swords
Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot

Oh dear, it’s another “difficult” card.  10 of Swords can be even more difficult than XIII Death.  In XIII Death, something has come to it’s natural end and there’s a transition as a result.  In 10 of Swords the natural end is the result of following our faulty mental constructs into ruin.  We have to face the fact that our way of doing things just does not work.

The good news in 10 of Swords is that things are as bad as they can be.  The worst has happened.  Everything has come to naught.  It can’t get any worse.  Remember, from earlier in the month, the 10s always lead to a new cycle.  There are new ideas to be conceived and developed.  We’re done with the incompetent regime and have an opportunity to develop a clearer view of reality.

We can do that while we’re immobilized by all those rigid ideas that brought us to this point.  In David Sexton’s Winged Spirit Tarot, the swords are already in motion.  We’ve been overturned and our ideas have been shaken up, ready to fall into new ways of thinking.  In the Rider-Waite-Smith 10 of Swords, the swords are lined up along the energy centres of the spine, stimulating a higher view of reality, indicated by the gesturing hand in the foreground (the “prana mudra” that encourages the life force in the body).

Be kind to yourself when you run into 10 of Swords.  Be as rational as you can in assessing where your thinking became too inflexible.  Take the time to let go of the past, to heal, where necessary, and to mentally audition plans for what’s next.  Very occasionally, 10 of Swords can be an indicator that surgery is on the horizon, so make sure you have a professional opinion available about health matters.

And be ready to welcome in the light of the new cycle.
